I can't think of a better way to celebrate the new year than having a photo shoot and this gorgeous mama asked to do her maternity shoot on New Years day. We discussed doing them up in the mountains but we had a healthy recent snowfall so my original location was fairly deep.
I was also concerned with how cold it would be since we just had some recent snow fall so we went to Mountain Park to shoot and we had lots of wonderful untouched snow to work with. We were able to get this shot of the beautiful blue sky, snow dusted hill. This velvet dress just really shined in the bright sky and mama was glowing as well.
We went to the pond at Mountain Park and it was frozen over which gave a unique look to this photo. This is something we normally wouldn't see in the desert. Mama looks so beautiful in this pose.
Took a different angle for this shot around the pond and got hubby involved as well. Even the ducks decided to join in for this shot. It was fairly cool this day but I can only imagine how much cooler it would have been if we had gone further up. I'm very happy with the results we got from this session and it was a great way to start the new year.
